Christmas Pressies

Max really does like to get into the spirit of things!
He's a huge fan of openning presents, even if they're not his!
Needless to say,
he thoroughly enjoyed the present giving on Christmas Day!

His present was a
new blanket for his bed. . . . .

but I'm sure,
 he would have preferred
some of the edible presents instead!

Please Let Me In!

One snowy dog!  Even in this weather,
Max just has to venture out at some point!
~ ~ ~ ~
He just looked so sorry for himself,
needleless to say,
the minute he entered  back in the door,
he headed straight for the warmth of the fire.
 That is a definite rarity....
Normally,
he'd be waiting impatiently for a biscuit from his own jar!

Designer Shopping

With my recent travels to The Netherlands & Belgium,
I was surprised to see pushchairs made for dogs! And people using them for their pets.
Common place was the use of bags to carry small dogs in.
These pet stores in Brugge,
catered for every whim of the pet & their owner,
 from clothes for dogs,
 to designer dog bowls.

IMG_1479 I think I’m just relieved my dog,
Max has been use to country style living. . . .
 long may that continue!

Making the Most....of Daylight hours!

The sun now hangs lower in the sky,
but wanting to make the most of the daylight,

Max enjoys some Quantock walking,
 a bit soft under foot,
but we make our way through  a clearing into a dark wood.

Signs of Autumn now settled in. . . .

Finally, the blue skies are a welcome contrast
when we eventually emerge back into the clearing.

I Spy. . .

I spy a Woodland Walk. . . .
Max definitely in his element,
even ignoring me as he continues with such a lovely walk!

Fungi to be found in amongst the undergrowth

Many plants laden with Berries, Autumn signifies an ever changing scenery.
But, each season brings with its own beauty. . . .

Woodland Treats

A short drive,
my daughter & I reach the lower ridges of the Quantock Hills, Somerset.
We've parked up beside a bridle path going uphill into the woods.
This day was certainly our intention to give Max some extra attention
particularly as he hadn't been his best of late.
Many photos was taken this day,
& even some filming with the camcorder.
Max seem completely invigorated.
He coped with the walk really well much to our surprise,
 but certainly a reasurring one.

Through the opennings in the woods,
the skies were of brilliant blue, such a lovely sunny day!

Pine cones of various size's were in evidence,
reminding us of an oncoming Autum.

The blackberries were ripening,
& yet a random foxglove was still in flower,
but the plant was protected by the shade.

A lovely walk,
 which we all thoroughly enjoyed,
with much laughter & memorable moments,
particuarly with the footwear my daughter turned up in,
even though she had been warned
as to what sort of walk it was going to be!!!

She coped very well considering,
but despite the occasion,
she is an avid fan of fashion!

Just been so please to think she had Max to grow up with. . . .

Sunshine Hours

Max was 13 years old last weekend.
He still likes to follow me whenever I'm in the garden.
He never  even attempts to stray too far away these days,
so I'm sure he likes nothing better than to be so close to home!
Thankfully,
he  still seems to be content with his life,
eventhough his health is not  quite what it was.

Inspiration

A visit to my daughter's,
also enabled me to see her cat,
who had stayed with me on a few occasions.
~   ~   ~
She showed me her small nightlight holders she had on display,
which were decorated with  brightly coloured glass & beads.

These colours are also represented
in the wonderful array of summer blooms. . . .
Really believe nature is a wonderful natural resource,
to gather inspiration for such wonderful creative projects.
